In response to the rapid development of the automotive, defense, and industrial sectors, the BOSMAL Institute is significantly expanding its testing capabilities. Our latest investments in laboratory infrastructure enable even more precise verification of the durability, reliability, and safety of components-including advanced high-voltage (HV) systems for e-mobility.

Advanced Environmental and Climatic Testing

Our new testing rigs allow for the faithful reproduction of extreme operating conditions, providing a comprehensive assessment of component resistance to environmental and mechanical factors.

Walk-in Climatic Chamber for Cyclic Corrosion Testing

A large-scale chamber designed for the simulation of aggressive environmental conditions (salt spray, condensation, temperature, and humidity cycles). It enables precise evaluation of the corrosion resistance of coatings, components, and entire assemblies.

  • Workspace: 2 x 4 x 2.5 m (H x L x W).
  • Performance: Wide temperature range (-50°C to +180°C, optionally up to +200°C) and humidity range (10% RH – 98% RH).
  • Dynamics: Cooling and heating rates up to 10 K/min.
  • Compliance: VDA 233-102, PV 1210, PN-EN IEC 60068-2-52, DIN 55635, among others.

Large Dust and Sand Testing Chambers (IP / Erosion)

A set of chambers dedicated to evaluating protection against dust ingress (IP rating) and simulating surface erosion (“sandblasting”).

  • Vertical Dust Chamber: Designed for large components (e.g., battery pack housings, e-drives). Internal dimensions: 2.5 x 2.0 x 2.5 m, payload up to 700 kg. Compliant with ISO 20653, IEC 60529.
  • Horizontal Chamber: Enables the simulation of wind-blown dust/sand (e.g., Arizona dust, talc, cement powder) with regulated air flow velocity. Fully compliant with stringent military standards such as MIL-STD-810H.

Solar Radiation Test Bench

An advanced system for simulating solar radiation, as well as thermal and photochemical loads, on large components (approx. 2 m and larger).

  • Technology: Full-spectrum metal halide and halogen solar simulators (280–3000 nm).
  • Application: Evaluation of the aging process, durability, and performance of materials.
  • Compliance: EN 60068-2-5, DIN 75220, MIL-STD-810H.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing

In the era of advanced electronics and electric vehicles, ensuring proper electromagnetic compatibility is critical. Our new EMC systems offer unprecedented precision and testing scope.

ALSE Chamber (Absorber-Lined Shielded Enclosure)

A shielded chamber lined with absorbers for a full range of radiated emission and immunity testing for the automotive, military, and industrial sectors.

  • Dimensions: Usable interior space of 7.55 x 6.05 x 3.10 m, with a maximum DUT weight of up to 700 kg.
  • Frequency Range: From 10 kHz to 40 GHz.
  • Power & Infrastructure: Programmable power supply up to 1500 V DC / 2 x 500 A, cooling and compressed air connections, and video monitoring.
  • Compliance: CISPR 25, ISO 11452, MIL-STD-461G.

RF (Radio Frequency) Immunity Testing System

Enables the evaluation of the immunity of control modules, inverters, and HV components to narrowband radiated electromagnetic fields.

  • Parameters: Testing in the 100 kHz – 7.12 GHz band with field strengths up to 600 V/m.
  • Methods: Radar pulses, Bulk Current Injection (BCI).
  • Compliance: ISO 11452-2/4, UN Reg. 10, and specific OEM standards (VW, BMW, Ford, Stellantis).

EMC Testing System for High Voltage (HV) Components

A dedicated test setup for e-drives, inverters, and battery packs.

  • Capabilities: Universal 1500 V DC / 250 kVA power supply simulating realistic HV network conditions.
  • Disturbances: Features a module generating fast transient switching disturbances typical for HV DC lines, a voltage ripple generator, and Artificial Mains Networks (AMN) for conducted emission testing.
  • Frequency Band: DC to 500 kHz (in accordance with ISO 21498-2 and VW80300 specifications).
