Endurance and Dynamic Testing of Transmissions and Electric Drive Axles – AVL 412/402 Test Bench
The AVL 412/402 test bench is designed for advanced endurance and dynamic testing across a wide range of gearboxes, including manual, automatic, dual-clutch, and continuously variable transmissions (CVT). Equipped with a state-of-the-art battery emulator, the test bench also enables comprehensive testing of electrified systems. This includes:
- Hybridized transmissions.
- Complete electric drive axles (e-axles)—including their integrated electric machines and inverters—under precise vehicle battery simulation conditions.
DynoPrime driving motor and DynoTrain loading unit
The DynoPrime driving motor, simulating a vehicle engine, is a permanent magnet water-cooled AC machine.
The DynoTrain loading units, simulating road load, are AC air-cooled machines.
Battery Emulator (250 kW)
The battery emulator integrated into the transmission test stand enables testing to be carried out on complete electric drive axles (engine, gearbox, inverter, semi-axles) and hybrid transmissions with transverse engine mounting, including under simulated operating conditions (simulation of the vehicle and its battery, as well as the road and the driver).
