Plastic and rubber density

A sample hung on a wire is weighed with a specified accuracy. Then, the still hanging sample is submerged in an immersive liquid in an immersion beaker, with the sample supported. The immersed sample is weighed with a specified accuracy. Knowing the sample mass determined in air and in water, the weight automatically determines the density.

Testing norms

  • PN-EN ISO 1183-1, method A – Nonporous plastic density determination methods
  • ISO 2781, method B – Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic, density determination.

Equipment
