In this type of test, the gearbox oil works in all gears at two load points, i.e. at maximum torque and maximum power. Loading the gearbox in this way, it is possible to simulate a high vehicle mileage in a relatively short time (for example, approximately 150,000 km for a petrol engine in approximately 5 weeks, and approximately 180,000 km for a Diesel engine in approximately 6 weeks). Obtaining a daily mileage at a level of 4,000 to 5,000 km in road tests would be difficult – furthermore, it is worth emphasizing that the reproducibility of the results generated during bench tests is crucial for this type of research.
